I am Assistant Professor of Political Science at
Rice University. My research focuses on the comparative study of
democratic institutions, focusing on legislatures and coalition
politics. My current projects focus on the consequences of political
parties' electoral goals for the distribution of legislative power and
resources and on the spatial analysis of legislative voting and other
choice data. I am also Program Director for the Clarke Leadership
Research Fellows Program in the School of Social Sciences, a
collaborative research experience and professional development program
for undergraduates.
